Absolutely stunning antique silk panel in celadon green with spectacular hand-embroidered tableau with birds, cranes, butterflies, camellias, foliage and water reeds. Panel measures 20.5" by 15.75" and is backed with a monochromatic pale gold silk panel. The longer side edges are unfinished, with some fraying, and the gold backing has some tearing along one edge and a circular dampstain to a bottom corner. The celadon front panel itself is in very good condition considering its age - the embroidery itself is crisp and intact, the coloring vivid and unstained, just one faint dampstain contour to the lower right corner. This is exquisite, masterful and utterly frame-worthy.
