Offered here is a Contemporary Run cast iron ore car tag from the Miners Foundry & Manufacturing Company in Nevada City, California. Measures 5.75 x 2.0. The Miners Foundry in Nevada City survives to this day. Beginning its life in the 1850's manufacturing mining equipment for the California Gold Rush mines, manufacturing ended in the early 1970's. I believe they still do occasional runs of cast iron parts and pieces, this tag likely being one of them. A great display piece of Miners Foundry history. Thanks for looking!
