The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 is not just a vehicle; it's a legend on wheels, a testament to an era when power and performance were paramount. This particular Chevelle, a factory Super Sport, is a remarkable find with a provenance that adds to its allure.

Since rolling off the assembly line, this Chevelle has been cherished by a select few. The list of original owners is a testament to its desirability and care over the years. Each owner has left their mark, but the car's essence remains untarnished, preserved meticulously through decades. Accompanying the vehicle is the original build sheet, a rare and invaluable document that details its birth and authenticates its journey.

Under the hood lies the heart of this beast: a numbers-matching drivetrain featuring the renowned 396 cubic inch, 350 horsepower Big Block engine, coded T0814CTX. This engine is a marvel of its time, delivering a symphony of power and performance. Paired with an M20 4-speed transmission, this Chevelle offers an engaging driving experience that true enthusiasts will appreciate. The 12-bolt Posi rear with 3:31 gears ensures that power is effectively transferred to the road, providing both traction and exhilaration.

Currently equipped with a Holly 4-barrel carburetor, this Chevelle has been enhanced for improved performance, adding a touch of modern efficiency to its classic powertrain. However, every modification has been made with respect to its original character, maintaining the integrity of this iconic machine.

Visually, this Chevelle SS396 is a showstopper. Originally finished in a Forest Green exterior, it has been masterfully refinished in a striking Shadow Gray. This color transformation accentuates its bold lines and aggressive stance. The addition of a black vinyl top adds a touch of elegance and contrast, enhancing its visual appeal. Step inside, and you are greeted by a black interior that was originally dark green. The refinished black interior not only updates the aesthetic but also adds a timeless sophistication. The factory vinyl bucket seats and center console exude classic muscle car charm while ensuring comfort and support.

Driving this Chevelle is a joy thanks to factory power brakes with front discs and power steering, making it as manageable as it is powerful. The F70-14 red line tires are a perfect nod to its heritage, offering both style and substance, gripping the road with authority and completing its classic look.

This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 is more than just a car; it is a piece of history, a symbol of an era when American muscle ruled the roads. Its impeccable lineage, coupled with careful preservation and tasteful enhancements, make it a prized possession for any collector or enthusiast.
