Up
for sale is a “must have” for any Bond
memorabilia/merchandise collector, a vintage working James Bond 007 Solid State AM Radio with
original box. This was made in Hong Kong in 1973. It was produced by Vanity
Fair Ind. in collaboration with Glidrose Publications and Eon Productions. This
radio takes a 9v battery (I will include
the one that is currently in the radio, not sure how much “juice” it has left).
Radio
Condition
Working
– Please note, this is a vintage AM radio with poor
sound quality and limited station pick-up due to the lack of an antennae. With that
said I did find a local station and listened through static background noise.
The
left dial I believe is a “dummy” dial. It turns but has no active function.
The
On/Off switch on the right side is also the volume switch.
The
tuning dial works, although as I said, the station pick-up is limited.
In general the piece does have some scuff marks, wear and scratches (see
pictures).
Box
Condition
The
original box shows storage wear including edge and
corner wear and graphic loss (see last nine pictures). One face has a small tear (see last picture).
Structurally the box is sound.
Please
check all pictures for best idea of condition and use them to determine overall
quality.
