Brass
Microscope
with
Case.
This brass microscope has "M. Pillischer, London" and "No.400 " stylishly engraved in to the rear of the stand and it is in "as found" condition.
There are no cracks or chips to the brass that I can find and the microscope has retained much of its' original lacquered finish, however, there are the usual scuffs, marks and scratches, particularly, to the drawertube, that you expect from a used item of this age.
The drawtube moves up and down with its' rack and pinion mechanism and the fine focus appears to work.
The font of the drawtube is engraved with the suppliers details.
There are no cracks or chips to the double sided mirror and it has much of its' silvering.
The adjustments to the moving stage work as they should, however, one of the spring clips is a replacement.
It has one eyepiece and one objective.
The microscope measures approximately 31 cm (12 inches) tall.
The microscope is sold as a collectors item and we have not tested it for clarity of image.
