Grüß Gott! (Good Day!) 1881 zeichnungen (drawings) by Frau (Fr.) Lipps , published by (Verlag) Guftav Weife

A collection of fantastic children themed prints from 1881 that you are unlikely to ever come across and let alone the entire collection.

Book weight folder holds 12 prints by Frau Lipps and published by Guftav Weife.  The collection is entitled Grüß Gott! which translates to Good Day!  Prints such as this sell easily for $50-100 each in art/antique stores.

The folder itself is in remarkable condition given the age.  The spine covering is loose but the book is still well held.  Interior has 3 flaps to hold the prints.

Bi-fold initial sheet is at the front and notes all of the included print.

With the stylized lettering we have had trouble translating all of the print titles but we have figure out a few (we sincerely welcome any translation help to this cool piece of history from our German speaking friends):

1
2
3
4 Dear Ones
5 In Resounding Delusion
6
7 In Room Again
8
9 My Book is the Book and it Belongs to Me
10
11
12

Prints are on a light board that is approximately 12 3/4" x 9 3/8" with the image itself being about 5" x 7"

The boards themselves have some browning on the edges but most of the print areas are uneffected and could be framed easily to hide the edges and show the prints in their glory.  Some have a few chips on the edges, see pictures (also see note below about pictures if you need more).

This is an ultra rare collection and in fantastic condition mostly because of the nice folder they have been kept in.

Pictures have a light watermark on them and we were limited to the 12 picture limit here but we have more shots (including 12" x 12" of each print and 2 print closeups) so please ask if you need to see more.  Pictures are usually 12" to 14" square and we recommend downloading them to your computer as the site will not show the full size.
