Here is a cute little old wooden sewing box that measures 7 1/2" long by 4" high and 4 1/2" deep.  It comes with a little

inside tray.  Both the tray and the box lid have been hand painted.  The lid has the name Henrietta.B.Work.  I'm not sure if

her last name is Work or if it means that the box holds Henrietta's work.  The decoration includes hand painted roses in a

naive style - all very charming.  The box has a lock but I don't have the key.   There is a small chip on the right hand corner

but no other damage.   I believe that it dates from 1850 to 1870s.  A rare survivor.

Careful packaging.
