This  fantastic PAPER TOY (also referred to as a Paper Doll or Card )  was issued by the WOOLSON SPICE CO. of Toledo Ohio as an insert premium in their brand of LION COFFEE. This series is listed as K31 in the American Card Catalogue.  The toy has been die-cut and folded along the lines indicated on the card so that the collector could stand them up and use them as toys.  The back of the card indicates that there were 30 different toys in the series. This one is a sailboat or yacht.   IT has been cut and folded along the dotted lines so that it could be used as a stand up toy.  It also has some creasing near the top of the mast and a small spot of print loss to the back.  However the fstand up flaps are still attached.   This is usually not the case with these toys as they were usually torn off after heavy use.  Finding one with the  flaps attached is tough.  This one is fully intact with no missing pieces. The piece measures 5 inches tall  by 4 inches wide approximately.  I have scanned the card both front and back fairly large for you to be able to judge condition for yourself.    This is a rare and highly desirable cross over collectable.    Because of the fact that it was issued as a toy to be played with, and that it is fairly fragile to begin with, not many have survived over the 130 years (a true American Antique).  They are very prone to being torn apart at the flaps, and finding one intact is tough. This  fantastic PAPER TOY (also referred to as a Paper Doll or Card )  was issued by the WOOLSON SPICE CO. of Toledo Ohio as an insert premium in their brand of LION COFFEE.
