You are looking at one of the scarcest Caldecott books in existence - a double-signed true First Edition of The Little Island, published by Doubleday in 1946!

There's a lot to talk about, so please bear with me.

True First Edition: points include black spine, no mention of Junior Literary Guild, Statement of First Edition, correct price on dust jacket.

Double-signed by Caldecott Award winner Leonard Weisgard and author Golden MacDonald (aka Margaret Wise Brown).  Not inscribed, just boldly and beautifully signed by both.

Condition: there are flaws, otherwise this book would be priced multiples higher.  Book: Good, in my judgement, with clean text and still-breathtaking artwork, but rubbing along the edges and at the corners.  Impression of a paper clip on front pastedown and page with autographs.  Signature blocks have loosened with some unraveling of thread.

Dust Jacket:  only Fair - please examine photos - noticeable wear on extremities, medal sticker rubbed away, split at spine.  Now held together with new mylar, which also enhances its appearance.

Not for the more demanding collector.  But still the only double-signed first edition available anywhere in the world right now and a treasure for the beginner / mid-rung collector who values uniqueness.
