Ames Anciennes

Fine antique American violin made by Frank Carter, 1921.

A beautiful American violin made by Frank Carter in Detroit in 1921. The violin is very artistically made, with gorgeous woods. The top is made of two parts of spruce and shows irregular grain lines. The back is made of an incredible single piece of American maple, the curl reflecting the light under the varnish when moving the instrument like none. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The head is very graceful. The varnish, of a delicate amber color, is entirely original.

On the inside back can be found the original label of the maker, "made by Frank Carter. Detroit Michigan Anno 1921". The violin is entirely crack-free, and just shows a few nicks or wear on the varnish.

The instrument is guaranteed 100% original and authentic. We can issue a certificate on demand after the sale including pictures for a little price.

The instrument comes with an old case.

Body length : 357 mm.

The sound is mature, brilliant and deep. An extraordinary American violin.
