Item: 8 Antique Currier & Ives Linen Prints
Details: Stored for decades in well-preserved, clean condition, here is a rare set of eight antique Currier & Ives prints on linen produced in the early 1900s. Each measures 8-1/2 x 6 inches and each features a different named landscape pattern as seen in the photos. Color saturations range from bold to watercolored type hues. You can see the horizontal and vertical textures of the weave. Edges are finished in a dark green floss. There is some minor discoloration from age/storage at the bottom of the American Railroad Scene, nothing significant. Remarkably, no other discolorations, rips or tears. In good vintage condition and a fine addition for the Currier & Ives collector.
All of my repeat customers are aware that I have had a passion for antique & vintage linen and laces for many years. I take particularly great care of them and have my own methods in eliminating or reducing discolorations as a result of age and/or usage. They have generally been used and/or handled by their previous owners over many years. Most are rarely perfect. None are in brand new condition. Most are purchased because of their beauty, intricate details and continued years of life left to them, in enjoyment. In the description and photos I try to be as accurate as humanly possible about any flaws or damage that I can visually see and feel. Sometimes tiny and/or barely noticeable imperfections may be missed and should be expected of old textiles. Please be mindful that color tones can also vary on different computers. Be sure to view and enlarge all photos before bidding and ask any questions if you are uncertain about the condition of any item.
