1864 - 1949
Artist, illustrator and cartoonist George Denholm Armour studied art in Scotland.
He later moved to London, where he shared a studio with Phil May. He fought in World War I and was awarded the OBE in 1917.
He produced sporting drawings for Punch, becoming one of their most well known equestrian artists. He drew for many of the finest publications of the period and worked extensively in pen, brush, Indian ink and watercolour.
