Hollyhock - Black Single



Hollyhock - Black. These Old Fashioned Black Hollyhock are a beautiful plant for any garden and they have a great color when in full bloom. The single black blooms in the summer are on a plant that reaches 4-6' tall. They are a perennial so you will have color for years. They like moist soil with full sun. The flowers are employed as a natural colouring and give a lovely colour to herb teas. Flowers also used medicinally like marshmallow.

When to Sow: Early April to early June.

Where to Sow: In open ground or cold frame.

What to do Next: Thin out seedings as they grow to 5cm apart. Plant out during September and October, spacing 30cm apart for flowering throughout the following summer.
