An extremely rare Dr. Hensoldt "Proto" 55mm 1:1,8 lens for Leica screw mount M39, made in Wetzlar, Germany 1947. Some sources say only ten were made.

Looking straight through the lens, either from the front or back, the glass seems to be crystal clear. However, lightning it from the front, some reflections appears which probably is an effect of separation. It looks like an uncompleteness in coating within the front lens system, despite this lens is coated outside the front lens element only. Otherwise, this lens is in very good condition without scratches or fungus, with smooth focusing and working aperture function (13 leafs). No rust or dings. Serial no. 1010. Comes with a Kiev rear cap and a leather pouch.
