50ft Hank of Commercial Grade 7 Strand Top Quality 550 Parachute Cord

- Silver Grey Color

This paracord comes from the same government contracted factory that currently supplies the military. You will not find a higher quality commercial grade 550 paracord anywhere. This is brand new paracord direct from the factory, not outdated, faded or rejected stock.

This paracord is made of continuous filament nylon with an intricately woven outer sheath and 7 twisted strands of nylon inside. The sheath alone has a break strength of approximately 300lbs and each of the 7 strands of twisted nylon inside have a break strength of approximately 50lbs (each of these 7 strands are comprised of 2 individual strands). In tests this paracord meets and in many cases well exceeds the 550lb break strength.

This cord is very useful in a survival situation because the many parts make it very versatile and its overall strength is unbeatable for its size. It is easy to cut and splice back together by melting to form different shapes and lengths. The outer sheath is very resistant to abrasion which makes the cord very reliable even under harsh conditions. Just one 50ft hank of paracord has 1,100ft of  twine and sheath!

Everyone should have at least 50 feet of 550 paracord in their survival kit.

Our paracord is quick drying and mold, mildew, rot and UV resistant.

Here are just a few common and suggested uses for paracord:

  • Survival Kits- A must have in my opinion even for smaller pocket kits.
  • Guy Lines- For tying down tarps, tents, bivvys etc. (Our reflective and glow-in-the-dark paracords work great for this purpose)
