This terrific old photo shows a skillfully made log stove and nearby tent. We are curious to know what the white material is, that prevents the logs from catching fire. Perhaps clay. This improved print has been or will be custom made for you new, in a photo lab. We have taken great care to preserve the sharpness and old look while removing scratches, spots, and other damage that would make it less viewable. We have repaired imperfections and improved tonal values. The optional 8x10 size is shown here. The 5x7 or 12x16 prints will show a little more of the trees at the top and more grass and dirt at the bottom.

Why buy this photo:  This print would contribute to any rustic camping decor in a restaurant, cabin, lodge, office, classroom, library, or museum. Decorators use our sepia-tone prints in a variety of ways to make them look old (see "Tone options" below). Our photos can be used in school reports, presentations, and displays. This is a significantly improved version of the image and must be licensed for use in a publication, production, or other product (see "Licenses" below).

Custom processing:  If you request substitutions, we will custom make your item after we receive your payment, usually within 48 hours. This means that you can choose an alternative size, tone, finish, or CD (see below). We ship custom-made prints and CDs quickly, usually within 2 or 3 days. If you do not request substitutions, we ship your 5x7 print the next business day after we receive your payment. So, you must specify substitutions on the same day that you pay.

However, you can substitute the optional 8x10 or a CD (see "CD option" below) at no additional charge. Be sure to make your request on the same day that you pay. Tone options:  Your print will have a sepia tone as shown unless you request grayscale. Sepia is the color of old prints today, caused by acid in the old paper. Many people prefer the warm sepia tones over cold black and white. Your sepia print will be on acid-free paper, but it will look old. Grayscale is the way modern black and white prints are made.

Finish options:  Your print will have a luster finish unless you request glossy when you pay. Glossy reflects glare but appears to be a bit sharper. Glossy also shows fingerprints more.

Luster (dull, less glare):  Default finish
     16x20 and larger have a satin finish which is similar to luster.

Glossy (shiny, more glare, looks sharper):  Request when you pay
     Not available in 16x20 nor larger sizes.

Border:  Your print will have a minimum border. This means that there may be some white edges (less than 1/4 inch wide) outside the image so that you can display the maximum amount of the image in a typical device that hides the edges of the print.

Quality:  We select the highest-quality images we can find and carefully restore and improve them. Old photos do not meet today’s high standards due to the limitations of the materials and methods available in those days, and due to aging and damage. But we improve them as much as we can while preserving an old look. Then we process them using modern archival methods so they can be affordable and last for many years.

CD option:  You can request to substitute a CD instead of a print. The CD will contain more than one version of the image, including at least one cropped close-up, that are optimized for digital presentations, websites, and e-mail. The images will not exceed 1200 pixels in the longest dimension, and thus may not fill the screen when used for high definition displays. If we have additional information about the image, we will include a text file as well. You must request the CD in eBay on the same day that you pay. The CD and images shall not be printed nor reproduced for sale nor distribution.

Packaging:  We ship 5x7 and 8x10 prints and CDs flat with a stiff board to prevent folding, in a sturdy envelope. Larger sizes are carefully rolled and shipped in a sturdy mailing tube.

Shipping time:  If you do not request substitutions, your sepia-tone luster 5x7 print will ship the next business day after we receive your payment. You must request substitutions in eBay on the same day that you pay, but your print or CD may then take a day or two longer to ship because it must be custom made. If you purchase additional eBay items from quaintcards to ship together, an extra day or two may also be required. The time required by the postal services to deliver your package depends on shipping method, Customs requirements, weather, holidays, and other factors beyond our control.

Shipping cost:  This item is sold with packaging materials and handling included. Domestic postage is also included. For destinations outside the U.S.A., buyer pays actual postage.
