Revolver è in ordine cronologico il settimo album della discografia ufficiale dei Beatles; venne messo in commercio nel Regno Unito il 5 Agosto del 1966. In esso si ritrovano, per la prima volta nella discografia del gruppo, elementi del rock psichedelico. La rivista Rolling Stone ha inserito l'album al 3º posto nella sua lista dei 500 migliori album.

I Beatles sono la più famosa rock band di tutti i tempi. La portata della loro vicenda travalica i confini strettamente musicali, condizionando mode, costumi e comportamenti non solo degli anni '60: la loro influenza si estende anche nei decenni a seguire, se si considera che a tutt'oggi la loro esperienza costituisce un modello imprescindibile e insuperato per intere generazioni di musicisti. Nell'arco di una carriera discografica relativamente breve (7 anni, dal 1963 al 1970), i quattro  incidono moltissimo materiale, grazie alla creatività debordante della coppia di autori Lennon-McCartney.
