A Day in the Life of a Boy

Norman Rockwell

The Saturday Evening Post Cover - May 24, 1952

(Copyright) Curtis Publishing Company

Print Size: 11 1/2 X 14 1/2

Stoltz tells us that "young Charles March started posing for Rockwell when he was three months old and continued until he was age 12. Finch suggests that the painting is "an anthology of the images of boyhood." For both this painting and the companion painting, "A Day in the Life of a Girl," I'm reminded of Stoltz's comment about Rockwell's painting "The Gossips" that ". . . it would almost appear that if all of these characters were on single pieces of paper, we could use our thumbs to rapidly flip through all of the papers and create for ourselves an almost movie-like sequence."

Don: This is to let you know that the print arrived today and I was most happy with the service and your products. It is always a pleasure to deal with professional people like you and make a BIG difference that there are still people who care. Thanks again and I have told others here about your site and how great the service is. You are a true professional. Thanks. (APO address)

Dear frames-and-things, my son had ordered the Norman Rockwell prints from you a few weeks ago. He is in the Marines, stationed in Africa. The prints were shipped to our house until he arrived back in the USA. The package was not opened. He arrived this past weekend and he opened the package to find that you had sent the two extra prints. He was very touched and appreciative for your gesture. He was tired from his long trip home, and you folks really made his day. It is people like you that make him, and every serviceperson feel rewarded. I am passing along his sincere thanks, as well as my thanks, as a father. Thanks so much!
