This heavy-duty reliable relay is weather resistant and durable - Unlike cheaper units that will burn out in 6 months. As it is a voltage sensing relay it will automatically activate without need to wire into vehicle ignition electrics or alternator making it very easy to install.

Many self-builders get confused with split charging and think that bigger is better, opting for the 140-amp VSR over the 60-amp Split charging capacity. While the 140 amp is of use in some instances generally the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. The 140 amp can be prone to over charging the battery due to the increased power, this can lead to a shortened battery life as well as potential fire hazards if not installed correctly. The cable thickness required for the 140-amp unit is also very unyielding and often difficult to roue successfully.

We install the 60-amp unit to all our own vehicles finding that it provides a strong charge to the leisure battery while used in conjunction with 6mm cross section cable.

The cable is easy to route, and the 50-amp fuse rating makes it very safe for DIY self-installation.
