WARNING: Sharpening can be hazardous. Please always use protective eye wear when using this tool. Do not sharpen near flammable materials, as small sparks are emitted during sharpening. Please note: Ceramic blades CANNOT be sharpened. Please do not attempt sharpening your ceramic blades with this sharpener!

PLEASE NOTE: It is normal for this sharpener to vibrate and make noise during the sharpening process.

Blade Sharpening Instructions:

1. Begin by removing the blade assembly from the clipper. Slide the cutting piece from under the tension spring.
2. Using rubbing alcohol, completely clean the blades before use. Dirty blades will ruin the diamond pad on this sharpener.
3. With the flat edges of the teeth facing down, place the blade on a flat surface and attach the magnetic edge of the blade holder (B) to its back.
4. Power on the unit.
5. To prevent damaging the teeth of the blade, place it down on the sharpener with the rear edge touching the sharpener before the front (cutting) edges touch the sharpener.
6. Rest the blade on the pad. Slowly and lightly, with a balanced touch, move it around in a circular motion or side to side. You donot need to apply strong, heavy pressure! Ensure the cutting tips remain on the pad for a uniform finish.
7. Applying uneven pressure will decrease the performance of the blade. To ensure a consistent edge across the blade, use the leveling vials to gauge accuracy. When the bubble in the leveling guide is centered between the indicator lines, you will know you have achieved the correct positioning.
8. If the blade has not been recently sharpened, the sharpening process will take longer than usual. Typical sharpening time is between 5 and 10 seconds. You will see a shiny finish across the cutting surface when sharpening is complete.
9. We suggest you disassemble, sharpen, and reassemble one blade, and then test it before using the sharpened blade on a dog. If you are satisfied with the test results, then repeat the steps above for all your blades that require sharpening.
10. Power off the unit.
11. Always oil your blades AFTER they have been sharpened, and then reassemble your clipper by following the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Ensure blades are properly aligned before using the clipper in an actual grooming session.
