This is a High quality Neutrik Female XLR to Speakon Speaker Lead. Made with genuine 2 pole Neutrik Speakon NL2FX, Neutrik Female XLR NC3FXX and KLOTZ Twin axial professional 2 core 2.5mm² (14AWG) speaker cable, for higher power heavy duty application, less power waste across the cable over thinner cables.

Klotz cable is made in Germany. Klotz cables have been delivering quality cables for decades and are trust and tried. We carefully selected this speaker cable as it gives great robustness, flexibility and has a quality feel that you only get from high end cables. The cable has a twisted pair of conductors within the outer jacket which really helps when coiling the cable up time and time again after gigs and touring and helps to stop kinking.

Connections are made on +1 -1 on each of the NL2FX Speakons on this lead - this is a standard connection.

This lead is designed to go between power amplifier output and passive speaker. Connections are made on +1 -1 connections within the 2 pole NL2FX Neutrik Speakon connector.

Connections on the Female XLR pin 2 hot connects to the +1 pole on the Speakon, pin 1 connects to the -1 on the Speakon. This a standard configuration that suit most applications where a passive loudspeaker is used. The cable is soldered to the solder contacts inside the XLR, we then heat shrink over these connections. Many other cable makers do not do this!

All the components on this lead are genuine. Neutrik have improved and patented the design of the Speakon and have gone a long way to stop counterfeit Speakons being produced. Do not be fooled into buying inferior copied version that exist, they will break and let you down when you need them the most. Have confidence in the fact you are buying a connector that is 100% genuine and has all the Neutrik logos on the connector.

Typical applications for this lead are:

Please note that XLR connectors were commonly used on passive speakers and amplifiers up to the year 2000 and XLR was replaced as an output with Neutrik Speakons. If in doubt contact us.

PA systems between power amplifier and passive speaker
Mixer with built in amplifier (Powered Mixer) to passive speaker
From an active speaker's Speakon output to passive extension speaker
Output of an amplifier that has XLRs for output to passive speaker with a Speakon
Linking Passive speaker cabs together

Note a passive speaker is a speaker cabinet without a built in amplifier and is driven solely by a power amplifier output.

If you do not know if this lead will work with your equipment please contact us we can help you. Better to get a lead that does the job you want it to than having a lead that isn't going to work.

**THIS IS WHAT CUSTOMERS HAVE ORDERED THESE LEADS FOR IN THE PAST - PLEASE DO NOT ORDER IN ERROR* PLEASE READ.

NOT FOR Connecting a microphone to an XLR Combo socket - this is the one that has an XLR and jack in one.

NOT FOR XLR line outputs EG on a mixer without the amplifier built in to rear of a powered speakers Speakon socket.

NOT FOR Thru XLR Active Speaker again this is line level and will not drive a passive speaker.

NOT FOR DIRECT OUT EG rear of a bass amplifier is not a speaker output for driving passive speakers - common on Bass Guitar amplifiers some times call 'DI OUT'

The Speakon connector does not fit into a XLR Jack combo normally found on the rear of active speakers. The combo socket is normally a jack and XLR - not a Speakon. If you are unsure contact us first we will reply quickly.

CABLE LENGTH Reference points - Know what you are getting and paying for.

This visible length from the rear of the connector. After searching the internet we have noted that many sellers of leads do not specify length precisely, this may not make a lot of difference when the lead is quite long but when the lead is very short it really does make a difference. The connectors use up approximately 100mm of cable inside of them. Some sellers do not specify the thickness of the cable either!

Neutrik make high quality connectors and have been doing this for decades. Where quality and reliability are needed they are trusted time and time again the biggest names in the professional audio industry.
