Why is the BCD so important?  The BCD (Breast Compression Device) or breast clamp, will prevent or eliminate early stages of capsular contracture, which is commonly associated with Breast Augmentation surgery.

Extend the life of your implants!  When this device is used in early stages post-augmentation, most likely encapsulation will not occur. Even after early stages of encapsulation, usage of our clamp will normally break the scar tissue and allow the implant to return to its natural shape and feel. Additionally, the clamp can even soften more advanced stages of encapsulation. 

Encapsulation is one of the most frustrating complications associated with breast augmentation surgery. Some studies state that a gel implant placed underneath the breast tissue has a 70-100% rate of encapsulation, if protective measures aren't taken. Capsular contracture results when a normal production of scar tissue, which develops around all implants goes haywire, and shrinks the size of the implant pocket, placing the implant under tension. This can be very painful, and associated disfiguration which occurs is quite displeasing. The result is a firmer than natural feeling breast.
