RICARDO MANTEL. Xochimilco, Mexico, undated (early 1900s).

Gelatin silver print measuring about 12x9 inches or 31x22cm, mounted under Plexiglas in a gorgeous carved frame measuring about 25x21 inches or 64x54cm, signed in pencil on the mount. Former owner states that this print was imported to the U.S. from Mexico no later than 1945. The pictorialist style would place the print between 1905 and 1920. It is labeled "Xochimilco" in pencil on the mount. Heavy wooden frame apparently machined, as opposed to hand-made.

Condition of this print
Near fine with a few tiny chips and other blemishes, no silver mirroring.
