Sony makes a few different versions of the Blu-ray laser lens.
But only the correct one will work for you.
You need to make sure that you purchase the correct deck for your specific console.
The surest way is to open up the console and see which laser lens is actually inside.
There is a sticker on the side of your laser module and it should read something like KEM-850 or KES-850A

Warranty:

This comes with a 60 day unconditional replacement warranty.

This includes the entire module with the diode.

  • Be aware of vendors that offer longer warranties without covering the diode.  Because majority of the time the diode is the problem when your laser fails.
  • Be aware of vendors that offer 6 months or extended warranties. If you have been using EBAY for a while, you probably notice that after 60 days you will not be able to open a case here on EBAY. Then, you ask yourself how are you going to chase after these vendors for the extended warranties that they promised
