Description

Fortieth anniversary edition of "Islands" release from King Crimson consisting of a DVD audio disc and a HQCD packaged in each cardboard sleeve. The DVD audio features the 2010 5.1.ch surround mix (MLP Lossless 5.1 Surround/DTS 5.1 Digital Surround) mixed by Steven Wilson. Also features the 2010 stereo mix and the 30th anniversary edition stereo mix. Includes bonus tracks. The cardboard sleeves replicate the original UK first pressing edition and the gatefold cardboard sleeve (A-style) with a green sticker, which was originally released in America.

King Crimson: Boz (vocals, bass); Robert Fripp (guitar, Mellotron, harmonium); Mel Collins (flute, saxophone); Ian Wallace (drums, percussion); Peter Sinfield.

Islands, rilasciato nel 1971, è il quarto album in studio dei King Crimson. Le canzoni attingono attraverso tre anni di ispirazione. "The Letter" è un adattamento di "Drop In", una composizione che è stata scritta dal gruppo dei Crimson nella loro prima originale formazione del 1969, mentre la "Song of the Gulls"- "Canzone dei Gabbiani" - risale al trio pre-King Crimson di Giles, Giles & Fripp per la sua origine ("Suite n ° 1"). I King Crimson sono un gruppo musicale rock Britannico, fondato nel 1969 a Londra. Spesso classificati come un gruppo prettamente progressive, durante il corso della loro esistenza hanno subito le influenze di diversi generi musicali, tra i quali: jazz, folk, musica classica, musica sperimentale, rock psichedelico, hard rock, heavy metal, new wave, gamelan, musica elettronica e drum and bass. Nello stesso tempo, però, i King Crimson sono riusciti ad influenzare molti artisti contemporanei, creando nel tempo una sorta di culto attorno al loro nome.
