Half a year after the release of their fantastic live DVD Red Sand were back with a strong new studio CD in 2009. "Music for Sharks" is a convincing conceptual album that critically deals with the record industry. So "this album is dedicated to all of these sharks of the music industry" by Simon Caron in the booklet.

Musically the band continues their way of a more independent style on their fourth album. References to early Marillion are still present, but many own and also new sound elements prevail.

The album convinces by strong vocals, many very good, partially bombastic intrumental parts with an outstanding Simon Caron on the guitar and great keyboard sounds as well as versed bass and drum work.

Back as vocalist is Mathieu Lessard who also was singer on "Mirror of Insanity" and whose voice is more Fish like than Steff’s on the last two albums.

This is Red Sand’s longest CD so far, with 6 tracks and a running time of 53 minutes.

Ein halbes Jahr nach dem Erscheinen ihrer fantastischen Live-DVD trumpften Red Sand 2009 mit einer neuen Studio-CD auf. "Music for Sharks" ist ein gelungenes Konzeptalbum, das sich kritisch mit der Schallplattenindustrie auseinandersetzt. So ist das Album im Booklet von Simon Caron auch den "Haien der Musikindustrie" gewidmet.

Musikalisch setzt die Band ihren Weg einer eigenständigeren musikalischen Ausrichtung auf ihrem 4. Album fort. Anklänge an die frühen Marillion sind immer noch vorhanden, es überwiegen aber viele eigene und auch neue Soundelemente.

Das Album überzeugt durch starken Gesang, viele sehr gute, teilweise bombastische Instrumentalteile mit einem überragenden Simon Caron an der Gitarre und tollen Keyboardsounds sowie versierte Bass- und Schlagzeugarbeit.

Als Sänger ist wieder Mathieu Lessard dabei, der auf "Mirror of Insanity" mitwirkte und dessen Stimme eher nach Fish klingt als die von Steff auf den letzten beiden Alben.
