This package is everything you need to add SiriusXM Satellite Radio on your CHRYSLER RDS headunit.
Your radio MUST be equipped with RDS capability or this system will not work. If you don't know what that is, please go to the bottom of this page for an explanation. DO NOT BUY unless you are certain your radio is equipped with RDS (Radio Data System)
Of course, the easiest way to tell if your radio is RDS is equipped is if it says RDS on it's face, and/or it bears this logo
OUR SYSTEM INCLUDES The Gateway Module that allows you to introduce satellite radio into your existing tuner using it's RDS display. That's not all it does! It also provides a USB port to allow you to connect your iPhone or a USB flash stick, the data for which can also be displayed on your radio.

WE INCLUDE THE OPTIONAL Tuner to Gateway Interface Cable necessary for the gateway to obtain signal from the SiriusXM Tuner
WE INCLUDE THE OPTIONAL CHRYSLER Antenna Adapter Set to allow use of the gateway's FM Modulator with CHRYSLER vehicles with a non standard antenna plug. ONLY IF YOU EMAIL US WITH YOUR VEHICLE MAKE / MODEL / AND YEAR. Not every vehicle needs them, but BE SURE to email us so we can make certain you get what you need to finish your installation on the first try.

HOW HARD IS THIS TO INSTALL?
If you can read and follow instructions, and make 3 simple wire connections, you can do this! The rest is practically plug-n-play & runnning and concealing cables.
Can you make a battery, ground, and ignition connection?
Make it easy on yourself: The instructions recommend hiding the components in the glove box or other easily accesible location to allow you to change settings as necessary and easily connect to the USB cable. Under the carpet is not a good location as this area retains alot of moisture which can damage your equipment.

What is RDS?
Radio Data System (RDS) is a communications protocol standard for embedding small amounts of digital information in conventional FM radio broadcasts. RDS standardizes several types of information transmitted, including time, station identification and programme information.
In other words in addition to the radio frequency and maybe a clock, an RDS radio will display additional information such as radio station call sign and/or format, and well as the performer and/or the selection playing and/or the song title. In the case of satellite radio, it displays the station number, which is necessary to use this system.
SOME EXAMPLES OF RDS DISPLAYS
This is just a sampling of radios that have RDS. There are many other styles.
DON'T FORGET TO TAKE ADVANTAGE of the additional USB capability built-in to the gateway. We market this set for satellite use but this is a great bonus feature. It can read flash sticks with MP3 WMA and AAC encoded content, or, with your own iPhone to USB plug, you can use your iPhone.
