The Providence Steamship Company ( McAllister Towing ) was established in 1881 and is one of the oldest tugboat companies in New England. Providence Steamboat company provides ship assist services in Narragansett Bay including tankers, barges, bulk cargos, coal at local utility plants, US Navy in Newport and Car ships in the port of Davisville. McAllister Towing operates six tugboats on Narragansett Bay and known for it’s wheelhouse green tugs with black stacks and the white disk logo. The company has two locations at India Street in Providence and off Shaw Street in Fall River, MA.
