This kit allows an oil cooler to be installed on the Mitsubishi 4M4 diesel which normally uses a 26mm filter. A 24mm Toyota dual element filter is used in place of the original. A different centrenut can be supplied with a transition thread for a variety of filters including Ryco Z503, Ryco Z9 and others. We do not advise using single element filters without fitting an add on bypass filter. The original 26mm dual element filter contained a small bypass filter that was supplied via a bleed hole in the spindle. The 26mm filter should not be used as it will operate only as a single element filter when separated from the engine by the sandwich. The Ryco Z334 - 24mm filter and the Toyota 9091530002-8T filter are dual element venturi type filters and provide fine filtration. The transition spindle blocks off the original oil bleed from oil return spindle so it does not waste to sump. The 24mm dual element filter being a venturi type filter operates differently and can be used with this sandwich.

Fits 26mm 4 cyl Mitsubishi Diesel filter in Delica, Rodeo, Jackaroo, Isuzu, etc. Comes with two steel AN10 fittings and plugs for the side ports. Sandwich can be supplied with barb fittings if required. Transition spindle is supplied together with two 26mm locknuts to remove the original 26mm filter spindle and two 24mm locknuts to install the new transition spindle. Sandwich can be supplied with barb fittings if required. The steel fittings are matched for perfect intrusion depth into the adaptor and installed in the sandwich. This is a high flow adaptor. The fittings use a 1/2"NPT tapered thread which taperlocks into the sandwich giving a very secure connection, no rubber seals to worry about. The two side ports are 1/8"NPT but can be supplied in other sizes.

Allows installation of oil cooler while the oil filter stays in position on the engine. Side ports allow installation of pressure guage, bypass filter, temperature sender and other extras.

This is a high flow adaptor. It is essential to use an oil cooler which has an adequate flow rate to get good oil supply to the engine. All oil to the engine flows through the oil cooler. Make sure the hose and fittings you use are sound and can not cause accidental oil loss. Ideally, you should fit a foolproof oil pressure loss alarm in diesels when you plumb oil outside the engine. We can supply one. Make sure the cooler and hose have tubing of at least 1/2" diameter capacity. There should be at least 1/2" capacity throughout the system if you want maximum flow rate. The best oil coolers are good quality copper tube construction.
