This is the Atkinson Water Trap Filter - it is essentially an oil filter with water drain and is made up with a clear bowl and drain point which enables the end user to monitor and remove any water build up within the filter.
How it works:
- 1. Separation: the incoming diesel oil changes speed and direction. The contaminated liquid and solid particles separate out and settle on the bottom of the tank from which they are then drained before coming into contact with the filter element.
- 2. Coalescence: The suspended water particles come together and separate out from the diesel oil in the final part of the feed pipe.
- 3. Filtration: The purified diesel oil crosses the stainless steel filter element. This deals with any micronic particles still suspended after the separation treatment of phases 1 and 2.
