Jackson Pollock, was an influential American painter and major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. He was well know for his unique style of drip painting.

Developed in New York in the 1940's - a post World War 2 art movement in American painting,  It was the first specifically American movement to achieve international influence and put New York City at the center of the western art world, a role formerly filled by Paris.
