The mandrel housing houses the shaft that spins the blade. The bearings in the mandrel assembly wear down through normal use. An unbalanced blade speeds the wear on the bearings, as does hitting rocks while mowing. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the mandrel housing is a 7/8 inch socket on an impact driver, 5/8 inch socket and a ½ inch socket.
