This is a lovely, vintage 1970, Hermes Black Alligator Kelly bag. In 32cm size, it is in excellent condition for its age, with lots of years of wear ahead of it! It has black alligator skins, gold hardware, and comes with original lock and clochette. In excellent condition, with no wear is the very firm handle; and the lock is covered and works beautifully. The hardware is in beautiful condition and the feet of the bag have some tarnish but are in original shape. The front and back sides of the bag are in beautiful condition, the scales are symmetrical and smooth. The stitching on the bag, throughout, remains tight and secure. Here is what I see in terms of wear... the sides of the bag are a little dry, there is one scale that is peeling a little, and the top edges of the sides are a little worn. There are some stains and marks to the lining of the bag. The corners have a little bit of wear. There is also a crack in the clochette. I rate the bag a 4 out of 5 because when you carry the bag, none of the age is visible. Only upon inspection will you notice the issues I am pointing out. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being a bag in brand new condition I would rate this a 7. Given the bag is nearly 50 years old I think that demonstrates its rather solid condition. This is a lovely bag, with true vintage appeal. I am happy to provide additional photos, and of course, the bag is with me in NYC if you would like to preview it.
