Australian DVDs are usually "encoded" to play in Australian DVD Players.
Most DVDs are REGION CODED depending on the country they are sold in.
The Australian Standard Region Code for DVDs is REGION 4.
It is possible to get "Multi-Zone" DVD Players which will play DVDs from any country.
2. TV / Video Format
The Australian Standard TV /video format is PAL
North America & Japan use a different format known as NTSC.
Most modern televisions are set up to allow viewing of both PAL & NTSC video.
