• Referred to as the 'Beauty Pill' because of its role in promoting healthy skin, hair & nails biotin is part of the B-vitamin complex (also known as Vitamin H or Co-enzyme R and is a water-soluble B-vitamin (vitamin B7).
• Small amounts of biotin are found naturally in some foods, as well as being produced by the intestinal bacteria. 
• An important nutrient for the body, biotin helps the body convert food into energy, as well as assisting in the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates and amino acids. 
• Natural sources of Biotin include egg yolk, dairy products, whole grains, legumes, most vegetables and fruit, nuts and nut butters to name but a few. 

Because Biotin is water soluble vitamin it can only be stored in the body for a certain amount of time before is excreted in the urine. This means that the body does not build up reserves of Biotin - it needs to be ingested daily. 

Although true deficiency is rare, symptoms of a deficiency of Biotin may include tiredness, dry eyes, hair loss and dry skin.
