Gotoh Vintage Style Strat Tremolo Unit

Gotoh Vintage Style Strat Tremolo Unit

  • £48.95
Strat replacement tremolo bridge unit

This unit is made in Japan by Gotoh - one of the worlds leading manufacturers of high-quality replacement guitar parts. This is a complete tremolo system kit that includes the arm, 3 springs, spring claw with screws, saddle height allen key, bridge to body mounting screws. Alloy sustain block and steel saddles. The GE101T tremolo is ideal for anyone that requires a very high-quality vintage-style bridge that has the same mounting and string spacing of an original or USA reissue Strat bridge but uses metric threads for all of the screws and tremolo arm along with a non-steel sustain block. For the US threaded equivalent with steel sustain block like the original Fender Strat bridge has, see the GE101TS Gotoh unit.

Important measurements -
Centre to centre of the two outer mounting holes - 56mm
String pitch - 11.3mm

Tremolo or vibrato?

The most common name for the bridge on a Fender Strat is a tremolo - a name chosen by Leo Fender himself and yet because he was not a musician himself, he was probably unaware that the term 'tremolo' actually describes the rapid and continual decreasing and increasing of volume to create a 'warbling' effect rather than what the bridge really does which is to change the pitch of a note. So, the correct name for the Strat bridge should really be a vibrato unit but the misnomer has remained to this day.
