Antique Chinese Portrait Reverse Eglomise Painting on Glass, Young Girl looking into Mirror.

Estimated Date: Victorian Period  late 1800's or early 1900's-20th Century,. 

This beautiful framed Antique Chinese Portrait Painting on Glass is an art form known as Eglomise or Reverse Painting. Painting is done on the back of the glass in mirror image and in colors that are not transparent. The measurements  are 13 3/4" width,  20 1/4" height. 

 The  subject matter  is a young girl looking into a handheld mirror fixing her hair. This has a wood backing, and is held on with wood tabs. There is a brass hanging handle on top of the painting. The picture is in Mint Condition, the Frame does show some wear commensurate with its age.
