Beautiful true vintage cotton and man made materials log cabin English patchwork quilt. I think from the materials that this was probably made in the 60s or 70s (see photos). The quilt is in excellent, perfect condition. Hand stitching approximately ten stitches to the inch.

I have never seen another example of log cabin quilting like this; the  hand sewn seams have been goffered so as to make them invisible. I hand sew quilts in the English style myself and I can't begin to think how much work this must have taken. Even the backing linen has been hand sewn on to the front with ten stitches/inch whipping.

The only machine sewing has been to sew a frame around the edge of each log cabin piece. I can't describe this very well, so please see the pictures!
