Oak strips fully seasoned, dry and ready to use. Planed and sanded to 100 grit finish via a through feed sander so very flat and uniform across the strips.

Lengths are either 440mm or 900mm long with a choice of two widths either 96mm or 140mm. ( The selection box above says 100mm width, this is incorrect, the width should read 96mm)

Thicknesses available are from 4mm up to 50mm.

Example: You need four pieces 7mm thick by 440mm long, you will need to select 7mm in the thickness selection box, 440mm in the length selection box and 4 in the bundle size selection box. ie a bundle of qty 4 @ 7mm thick by 440mm long. Simples!!

These pieces are machined to the following tolerances:-

Length may vary by upto plus or minus 2.5% ( ie +/- 11mm on the 440 length and +/- 22mm on the 900mm length.)

Width may vary by upto plus or minus 2mm.

Thickness may be upto plus or minus 0.2mm

Wood is a product of nature and nature is far from perfect, you will never find a perfect piece! It is best to assume that every piece will contain some small defects such as small shakes, small knots, uneven colour etc and I will be unhappy to accept returns for such things. That being said, I will in no way send anything that I would class as lower in quality than the examples in the photos.

Wood, wood, wood and more wood! Not much to say really that I hope the photos don't! The photo's are of the actual piece/pieces on sale and hopefully show any irregularities you need to consider in determining its suitability for your project. The wood is not treated in any way and has been planed and sanded to show off its beauty and character ( you will still need to put in the elbow grease with some finer paper though - I haven't taken all the fun out of it! ). I like to deal with happy customers, happy customers are people who receive exactly what they are expecting so I will in no way intentionally conceal any aspect of a piece that I don't think you would like, that said, please respect the fact that it is not a lump of plastic but a natural product that does and will interact with its environment.

About Me

I am a one man band ( not musically!) and I source mainly English hardwoods and process them into useful pieces. It starts with interesting trees that are being taken down for whatever reason (dead/dying, diseased, dangerous, in the way of development, wind fallen etc) These trees are then milled into useful and manageable planks ready for their 6 week holiday in my nice toasty kiln. After drying they are left to relax for a further few weeks just chilling in the shade. By this stage they are now seasoned, dry and stable and ready for processing into useful pieces that you can turn into beautiful things! Simples! I do also have some alien timbers too, like Iroko and Sapele not from these shores.

Free shipping is for U.K mainland only, excluding Scottish Highlands. If you are unfortunate enough to live outside the known universe the courier companies will charge more to deliver to you, therefore, we can not offer free shipping.
