What is 'new open box'?

'New open box' items are new products which have previously had their factory packaging opened. New open box products sometimes have missing printed manuals or slightly damaged boxes, however the products themselves are in brand new condition and are completely covered by our 30 day warranty (see below). This is what allows us to sell these items at such great deals.

While we do our absolute best to specify all product details, if you have any concerns about missing manuals/driver CDs, aesthetic damage to packaging, etc then please contact us before purchasing. We will never knowingly sell an item that may not function to it's fullest potential.

Shipping & Payment

We accept payment via PayPal. Please be aware that Canadian customers are subject to standard provincial tax/HST where applicable. Please see the 'Shipping and payments' tab above to view our sales tax table.

Unless otherwise specified, we ship with Canada Post Expedited Parcel service to both Canada and the United States. Shipping times vary by location. Please use the Canada Post website (canadapost.ca) for shipping time estimates. Tracking numbers are submitted through PayPal tied to your payment, so please check your e-mail junk folder for shipping notifications.

New open box products generally ship within 1 business day of receiving payment. Refurbished/'Grade A' laptops/systems generally take 3 business days to prepare and ship.

Due to eBay and PayPal seller protection policies, we can only ship to the shipping address specified by the PayPal payment account that have been PayPal verified.

Currently we can only provide a no-charge local pick-up option for orders of $250 and above, unless otherwise specified.

Warranty & Returns

Our goal is that you are completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied, please message us through our eBay seller account (eBay member: re-freshtek) within 30 days of purchase. Please include the quote number found on your packing slip for a timely response to your enquiry.

Buyer Warranty/Return Claims

All claims must be submitted by eBay message to our seller account within 30 days of receiving your item. Phone calls to our office may not be properly transferred and a communication log/history cannot be established. Please include the quote number found on your packing slip attached to your package in your first communication with us. Please accurately describe any problems you may have with your item or the eBay transaction. Please be courteous and professional when describing your issue. Fervently worded claims make for a more difficult return process for both parties.

For certain types of warranty claims (item received damaged, etc), you may be asked to provide a photograph of the item via e-mail for our own records. Additionally, all items are inspected upon return by our certified technicians.

Please do not ship your item back until you have notified us through our eBay account and a return merchandise authorization has been acknowledged. Failing to do so will significantly increase the time it takes to process a refund.

Situations Where Warranty Does Not Apply

While we always do our absolute best to provide a no-hassle warranty/return experience, there are certain cases where we will not be able to offer a full refund on a purchase:

  1. Where claim of warranty/refund is performed after 30 days of receiving the item, determined by shipment tracking delivery confirmation date
  2. Buyer purchased incorrect item or did not fully understand product specifications/compatibility prior to purchase

In case 2, if we are notified within 30 days of date of received item, we can process a return. However, shipping charges to and from the buyer, including duty, will be covered at the buyers’ expense. A 15% re-stocking fee will also be administered. Remaining balance from original purchase amount will be quickly refunded thereafter.

Return Shipping Process

If you receive an item that you are unsatisfied with and it meets our warranty/return specifications (see above), we are happy to reimburse you for the return shipping and, for customers in the United States, any duty charges. Certain qualities must be met in order to receive a full reimbursement of return shipping and duties:

  • All receipts (for return shipping and/or duty charges) must be attached or included in the package. We cannot reimburse you for return shipping charges without proof of payment. Scanned receipts by e-mail are accepted.
  • We will only accept and reimburse return shipments via Canada Post or United States Postal Service. We will only reimburse return shipments which have been returned with standard shipping methods (i.e. we will not reimburse return shipments which have been express or priority shipped) – please use standard expedited shipping method or equivalent.
  • For return shipments from the United States, please declare a $0 duty value for the item or, alternatively, declare the item with “gift” status. If the item is damaged, it has zero value to us until it is returned and repaired – please specify as such when returning your item. We are happy to reimburse your duty charges, so please save us from having to pay them twice – doing so helps us keep our eBay prices low, providing back to buyers like you.
  • The original packing slip provided with your package must be included or the quote number from the packing slip must be indicated on the return packing slip. Without this information it is very difficult for us to process your refund quickly and efficiently.
  • Please use the original packaging when returning your item and, where possible, avoid writing/defacing the packaging. We take great pride in being a green, environmentally friendly company and use every opportunity to reuse packaging and boxes we can.

Factory/Manufacturer Warranty

Unfortunately we are not able to guarantee the status/presence of factory/manufacturer warranties on any of our items unless it is otherwise indicated in the item description.
