The heads are cast in bronze, brass, copper or silver (aluminium) resin. Please state which finish you want when ordering.
Backed with a compound of acrylic resin and plaster, every cast is finished, patinated, sealed, polished with beeswax and signed by the artist. Extremely hard, durable and waterproof, they are suitable for indoor or outdoor placement.
This sculpture has a 22mmm hole in the mouth at a 45 degree angle ready to receive a standard copper pipe, allowing the head to be mounted and used as a water outlet. There are four holes in the backplate filled with dummy screws that can be pushed out and replaced with the included real brass screws with bronzed heads. There is also a wire loop for hanging the sculpture on the wall.
Using a silicone mould the cast is built up in several layers of polyester resin mixed with powdered bronze and marble. Silicone gives a 100% accurate copy of the original which was sculpted in clay. The grey base is a mixture of acrylic polymer and plaster and sealed with acrylic.
LIMITED EDITION
There will only ever be 250 signed and numbered examples of this sculpture (whatever the finish), after which the mould(s) will be destroyed. The price may rise over time, depending on demand, but will never be sold by the artist for less than the starting price
