Drennan Martin Bowler Big River Barbel Rod 12ft 2.25lb

Same day dispatch on orders before 3pm Mon-Fri

Developed in conjunction with Martin Bowler, this Big River Barbel Rod from Drennan is the perfect tool for those coarse fishing anglers looking to launch large feeders across high-flow rivers such as the Trent or the Severn. Martin is a floodwater barbel fishing expert and knows all too well that the faster the flow the more the barbel take. Therefore, he wanted to create a rod that would not only have casting power but would also hold enough power to be able to handle big fish in snaggy swims. If this in itself wasn’t enough of a challenge, Martin also wanted the rod to be able to forgiving enough to avoid hook pulls. This new rod more than meets Martin’s expectations and can not only be used with up to 15lb mainlines but can also handle the heavy leads needed to weigh the line in intense floodwater with ease.

Constructed from a high-modulus carbon blank, this rod has dark platinum weaved finish with delicate graphics on the underside. The cork handle is 26 inches making it longer than average so as to allow for double-handed overhead casting – a technique often used when trying to reach bank features on big rivers. The top section of this rod is white, for increased visibility in low light conditions or for when the rod is suspended over dark waters, and is also fitted with an especially designed Drennan Isotope – an ideal indicator. Fitted with seven SiC guides, from 25mm at the butt to 9mm at the tip, line can easily glide along the rod – even with stop knots. The rod has a screw down reel seat, so it can be easily paired with any number of reels, and has an engraved butt cap.

This incredible rod also comes with its own luggage and is supplied with a padded rod sleeve for ease of transportation and storage. If you’re looking for a top quality coarse fishing rod that can cope with large, strong flowing waters, you need look no further!
