Made of a dynamic red and ivory striped woven straw, this hat has two bright red velvet ribbons that cross each other over the crown and end in cascading tiers. Perched at either front side of ribbon ends are two perfectly embroidered moths made of metal bullion (this is a very old technique rarely used in mid-century pieces). Side note: some people might see bees or butterflies in these little insects, but, being a lover of moths that is what I see! No label or maker's marks. Overall condition is excellent with a faint stain near center front (see pics).
