This is a very nice US Masters Vector series guitar. It has been very well cared for and still looks great. It is Australian Lacewood with a roasted maple neck.
The history of us masters in a nutshell as i know it.
Started by brothers that had a very highly respected music store just outside of Madison. They had a singular focus to build a spectacular guitar that would hold up for working musicians... it has a patented locking neck joint that is rock solid. The guitars were build in Madison Wisconsin, and they would also ghost build for Dean USA custom shop. You could order a variety of options... it was a direct to customer custom shop.. and this guitar typically ran from 2500-4k depending on options, woods, finish etc. At some point, i believe when the economy went south... they took on a partner, and then started a low cost line out of china in addition to their US made guitars which did not help to build brand identity. At some point, they sold out totally to the partner and disbanded the Madison based custom shop.
This is one of the early, us based guitars from the madison WI shop.
