Hemerocallis (Daylilies) are long
lived, hardy and reliable perennials. They form dense clumps of grassy green
foliage with upright trumpet flowers that last for only one day, however mature clumps can produce several hundred blooms during the summer flowering period. Very hardy and easy to grow and look great when grown as single specimens or as part of a mixed border.
'Dragon Lore' Peck 1973 reaches a flowering height 60cm with large red blooms and a green throat. Deciduous foliage. Nursery grown plants lifted to order and sent bare rooted.
Soak
your bare rooted plant for a couple of hours before planting and prepare the
soil by loosening with a fork or spade.
Dig a
hole that is wider and deeper than the root ball, create a mound of loose soil in
the centre of the hole and set the roots on top of the mound.
Spread the roots evenly and carefully back
fill making sure that the crown of the plant is at or just below soil level.
Water and keep well-watered in summer months for first 3
to 4 weeks to encourage root growth and development. In dry summer drought
conditions please continue to water regularly in first year of growth.
