Description

On offer we have one of France's premier crystal wine glass makers, Saint-Louis . This is lovely piece of hand-crafted, blown, cut crystal. It has been beautifully made with cut diamond bowl with blaze or flame cutting. It has a fabulous faceted hexagonal knopped and air twist stem and plain foot.  I have been unable to find the pattern name, and I believe it may possibly be a rare and unusual pattern. there are four air twist bubbles in the stem.

The Compagnie des Cristalleries de Saint Louis is a corporation, founded in 1767 in Münzthal (Saint-Louis-lès-Bitche in French) in Lorraine. It is the oldest glass manufacturer in France with roots dating back to 1586 and the first crystal glass manufacturer in continental Europe.

The glass stands 7 inches tall and has a bowl diameter of 2 1/4 inches and a foot diameter 2 3/4 inches. It weighs 185g unpacked. It is in excellent vintage condition.

Please take a look at my other vintage Saint-Louis glass items listed for sale this week.
