Battery Ordinance - sales of batteries and accumulators If the offer includes rechargeable batteries and batteries: You are legally obliged to dispose of used batteries separately. Disposal takes place at a municipal collection point or in the appropriate trade. You can return batteries received from us free of charge or send them back by post. Batteries that contain pollutants are marked with the symbol of a crossed out garbage can and the chemical symbol of the respective pollutant (eg "cd" for cadmium, "pb" for lead, "hg" for mercury).
