This manual is the Consolidated factory issued one, which is a lot tougher to find than the Navy issued Pilot's handbook!! The PBY Catalina was the Navy's main flying boat during WWII. It was used extensively in the Pacific theater, where it served a variety of roles such as picking up downed pilots and aircrewmen, hauling supplies from island base to island base, antisubmarine warfare, and patroling as a lookout (spotting). The PBY-5B was a version of the PBY-5 Flying Boat built for the British, with 225 of this model being produced. Virtually identical to the PBY-5 and built specifically for the British, they were designated Catalina IB by the RAF, with 60 being retained by the U.S. Navy. Shipping is $4.50 flat rate for USA and this ships internationally for $14.50!!
