Polymethyl-Methacrylate also known as PMMA is the chemical name given to the material which is commonly known as Acrylic. This material has many trade names for example Perspex and Plexiglas.

In most cases Acrylics are often used as an alternative material to glass this is due to the tensile strength and toughness, easy handling and installation. A key feature of acrylics is that scratches may be removed easily by a simple and effortless polish. There are many benefits of using Acrylics which have a positive impact on the environment and reduce the carbon footprint as a whole.

Acrylics has an excellent environmental stability in comparison to other plastics for example Polycarbonate which also has its downsides therefore Acrylics is primarily the material of choice.
