Apart
from its obvious beauty, the first thing that grabs-you when this
vase is close at hand, is its size. It is an impressive &
substantial piece with a top diameter of over 8 inches and a height
of 10 inches – 26cms
I
have owned & handled several examples of this vase pattern by
d’Avesn, in a variety of glass-colour types, none of which have been signed, however not all of his
glass is signed or maker-marked and so this is by no means uncommon.
The vase was also a favourite amongst retailers of the Art Deco
period to convert into electrical lamps (see my photo’s of such an
example available by request) and some of these vases would even be
quite literally cut in half and made into wall sconces.
